Administrator Biography

Nicole McCaughey, LNHA

Nicole has been the Administrator for Adams County Manor for 5 years.

She obtained her B.S. in Biology in 1998 from the University of Cincinnati

Served as Assistant Administrator at Golden Age Care Center 2002-2003

Nicole has an excellent survey history at both facilities, accumulating multiple Perfect Surveys, Perfect Life Safety Surveys, and many excellent resident and family satisfaction surveys. Both facilities have received 4 and 5 star ratings during her tenure. Nicole has been a major factor in developing our in-house therapy team and creating and maintaining a high skilled census. She continues to develop policies and strategies to ensure that all our residents are treated with the upmost dignity and respect.

Laura Strickland

She Served as Interim DON at Adams County Manor from November 2010 – January 2011 before being hired as our Full Time Director of Nursing. Laura has worked at ACM since May 2008. She has been a centerpiece of our excellent Nursing staff since her beginnings with the company specializing in many areas.

She has served as a Charge Nurse and Floor Supervisor as well as being our leading wound care nurse prior to her becoming DON. Before switching to the world of Long Term Care, Laura served as a Medical Surgical nurse at Adams County Regional Medical Center for over a year. She is certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and has special extensive training is Cardiac Monitor Interpretation/Telemetry. Laura also has a certification as a Dementia Practitioner. Continuing her Education has been a priority of Laura’s as she has taken courses in Geriatrics, Wound Care, Alzheimer’s disease, Pain Management, and Leadership Courses.

Laura is an Adams County native, and graduated from West Union High School. She lives in the community of Fawcett, Ohio and has been married for 25 yrs to her husband Wayne. They have 4 children: 3 sons and 1 daughter, and 3 grand-daughters.

Director of Orthopedic Rehabilitation

Dr. Chuck Miller

Dr. Chuck Miller has a busy general orthopedic practice, with concentrations in adult reconstructive, sports, and trauma. He resides in Brown County, Ohio, and enjoys the hometown feeling that he had growing up in Northern Ohio. He is known for his bedside manner, and for taking time with his patients, trying to make his patients as comfortable and knowledgeable about their medical condition as possible. He helps out with many of the teams in the Brown and Adams county schools, has been known to see patients at his home, and on occasion makes house calls. Dr. Miller’s caring and expertise make him a valuable member of the Wellington Team.

Sabir Quraishi, M.D.

Adams County Manor Medical Director

Dr. Quraishi provides patient care in the Medical Surgical/Observation Unit of the Adams County Regional Medical Center. His physician office is located at 25800 SR 41, Peebles, Ohio. He completed his Medical Degree at S.N. Agra Medical College in Agra, India. His Internship and Residency was completed at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Quraishi has been the Medical Director at Adams County Manor since January 2004.

Rehabilitation Services Manager

Whitney Martin, PTA

Received B.S. in Exercise Science and minor in Coaching from Capitol University, 2009
Received Associates and Certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant from Shawnee State University, 2010

Before becoming the rehab manager at Adams County Manor, Whitney held several jobs in the healthcare field including: operating room assistant, telephone operator, registrar in the ER, and most recently, Physical Therapist Assistant in a hospital setting.

She is certified in kinesiotape, SoleSupport orthotics, and a yellow belt in Lean Six Sigma. In her spare time, she enjoys deejaying, playing with her son, Brian, and watching as much softball as she can. Whitney currently resides in Lucasville, Ohio with her husband, Wes.

Operations Manager

Ralph (Rick) Houser

Rick has been the Operations Manager for Adams County Manor and its Sister Facility, Morris Nursing Home, for over 30 years now. Rick was brought into the Family owned company on April 1, 1982 by the original owner and Brother Ben Houser, to be the manager of both facilities. Over the years he has amassed a large amount of responsibility and is a driving member behind the success of Morris Nursing Home and Adams County Manor.

Rick grew up on a family farm where he worked for several years. After his farming years concluded he took a position as Vice President of Citizensbank NA. He held this position until 1974 when he decided to take on a position with Clermont County. Until 1980 he served as the Fiscal Control Officer for the Clermont County Human Resources department. In 1980 he made his debut in the world of Healthcare when he began serving as the Business Office Supervisor for Brown County Hospital. He spent 2 years in the business office before taking his current position as Operations Manager with Adams County Manor and Morris Nursing Home.

Rick has been married to his wife Sharon for over 40 years. They have two children, Meghan and Brendan, who also work for the Nursing Facilities. Rick is also the proud Grandfather of 3 boys, Simon, Maxwell and Miles Houser. Rick has also been a Licensed Real Estate Broker for the last 41 years and is the Owner and Operator of R. Houser Realty based in Bethel, Ohio. He also writes stories and articles for the Peoples Defender out of West Union, Ohio.
